BY-LAWS
2001
1. The semi-annual meetings of the congregation shall be held on any Sunday in the month of January and any Sunday in the month of June of each year.
2. Duties of officers:
Ex-Officio President: The Senior Pastor shall be ex-officio president of the congregation. If pastors serve as co-pastors, one shall be designated as ex-officio president. He/she shall fulfill the duties of president in the absence of the president and vice-president.
President: The president shall be a lay member of the Congregation Council and shall preside at congregational and council meetings.
Vice-President: The vice-president shall be a lay member of the Congregation Council and shall preside at meetings in the absence of the president.
Secretary: Shall be present at all meetings to record minutes and do other normal duties of the office.
Treasurer: Shall be a member of the Operations Board and supervise all aspects of the finances of the congregation as delegated by the Congregation Council and the Operations Board.
3. A confirmed member who has failed for a period of two years to receive Holy Communion and to make any contribution of record to the congregation shall be classified by the Congregation Council as not in good standing and shall be removed from the roll of confirmed members, unless the Congregation Council is aware of need for special consideration.
4. At its first meeting after the June Semi-Annual Meeting in each congregational year, the Congregation Council shall appoint members to as many Boards as the local and wider concerns of the congregation shall require. In so far as possible, each such Board shall be composed of one council member, a staff person, and other confirmed members of the congregation in good standing. The pastors shall have voice and vote in all Boards.
5. The duties of the Boards are described in the continuing resolutions. Additional duties can be assigned by the Congregation Council. All actions of Boards shall be subject to review by the Council.
