CONTINUING RESOLUTIONS
OF THE COUNCIL
OF SAINT PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH
Section 50 – Nurture Board
R50.01. This section contains all continuing resolutions regarding the Nurture Board of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
R50.02. The Nurture Board is established by the Congregation Council as a permanent Ministry Board and reports to the Congregation Council through the assigned Council liaison.
R50.03. The purpose of the Nurture Board is to foster feelings of fellowship and community within the St. Paul congregation, to provide opportunities for, and promote involvement in, activities that enhance Christian fellowship, retain current membership, and to foster health and wholeness in the individual, family, congregation and community as past of God's will for all people.
R50.04. Specific duties and responsibilities of the Nurture Board:

a. Shall plan, organize, promote and give direction for all general fellowship activities of the congregation.
b. May establish sub-committees to target specific fellowship activities.
c. Shall be responsible for initiating activities such as picnics, athletics, potlucks, special outings, coffee hours and other social Christian fellowship activities.
d. Shall coordinate the activities of special fellowship groups and shall investigate the need for new groups.
e. Shall act as liaison between the Council and various adult social and fellowship organizations and the functions they sponsor, including any organized adult fellowship groups that may be requested or organized.
f. Shall function as a "catalyst" to encourage widespread involvement among the church family in wholeness programs, as well as integration within the health and caring community.
g. Shall be responsible together with the pastors for administering and coordinating the Stephen Ministry programs.
h. Shall develop programs to foster wholeness (physical, mental, emotional, relational, spiritual).
i. Shall encourage the development and training of volunteers to offer personal resources and answers to help congregational members deal with physical, mental and spiritual needs.
j. Shall coordinate caring and sharing volunteers' needs and efforts.
k. Shall maintain contact with and obtain materials from national and district offices of the ELCA, Stephen Ministries, Inc., local health organizations and institutions, and mental and physical health professionals within the congregation.
l. Shall assemble, display and communicate information and resources on various health and wholeness issues and develop educational programs in response to congregational needs and requests.
m. Shall encourage and maintain participation of the congregation in the community blood donor program.
