CONTINUING RESOLUTIONS
OF THE COUNCIL
OF SAINT PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH
Section 35 - Remembrance Committee
R35.01. The purpose of this section is to define all of the continuing resolutions concerning the Remembrance Committee of Saint Paul Lutheran Church.
R35.02. The purpose of the Remembrance Committee shall be to provide for independent guidance concerning proposed expenditures to be made from the Remembrance Fund. The Remembrance Fund is a dedicated fund balance within the church’s finances wherein donations are made by congregational members and others in memory of a loved one.
R35.03. The Remembrance Committee shall comprise of the Senior Pastor and three congregational members appointed by the Council.
R35.04. The Remembrance Committee shall provide the means for congregational members and ministry boards to propose and present ideas for Remembrance Fund expenditures.
R35.05. The Remembrance Committee shall ensure that proposed expenditures of the Remembrance Fund are appropriate uses of said funds and that they meet the following criteria:
a. Funds are not to be used for benevolence purposes.
b. Funds are not to be used for capital improvement projects.
c. Funds are not to be used for as a replacement for annual general operating purposes.
R35.06. The Remembrance Committee shall submit its recommendation on all individual written proposals of Remembrance Fund usage to the Council for consideration.
R35.07. Final approval of all proposed Remembrance Fund expenditures rests with the Council.
