R33.01. This section contains all continuing resolutions regarding the Stewardship Committee.

R33.02. The Stewardship Committee is established by the Congregation Council as a permanent council committee within the Operations Board and reports through the Operations Board to the Congregation Council.

R33.03. The purpose of the Stewardship Committee shall be to provide an organized Christian format wherein congregational members are encourage to support the activities of the church through a commitment of their time and talents, and/or their financial resources. It shall supervise the planning, promotion, and execution of efforts to meet the financial needs of the congregation.

R33.04. Specific duties and responsibilities of the Stewardship Committee shall be:

a To conduct a complete and challenging year round program of financial stewardship within the congregation, with a special emphasis scheduled and implemented each autumn to solicit intentions of planned giving in order to plan for the annual Church budget.

b. To annually make a review of the stewardship of the congregation and identify areas that need improvement.

c. To promote tithing and proportionate giving and plan and execute a program of regular education and training in the principles of Christian giving.

d. To coordinate the work of volunteers in the congregation by:

    1. Preparing and revising as necessary a time and talent card reflecting all opportunities offered to the membership     for service within the church.

    2. Giving each member personally an opportunity, at least once a year, to indicate the ways in which his talents can     be used to serve the ministries of the congregation.

    3. Maintaining information of the participation of each member and providing committees and organizations within the     church with the names of individuals qualified and ready for specific areas of work.

    e. To order and provide offering envelopes for all congregational family units.

    f. To discuss stewardship opportunities with new and newly-confirmed members by providing offering envelopes,     pledge or statement of intention cards and a comprehensive picture of the current stewardship program, and shall     coordinate these efforts with the Evangelism Committee.
