R40.01. This section contains all continuing resolutions regarding the Worship and Music Board.

R40.02. The Worship and Music Board is established by the Congregation Council as a permanent Board reporting directly to the Congregation Council through the assigned Council liaison.

R40.03. The purpose of the Worship and Music Board shall be to render to the pastor such assistance as is necessary for the enhancement of the beauty and richness to the worship services.

R40.04. The Director of Music shall be a member of this board.

R40.05. Specific duties and responsibilities of the Worship and Music Board:

a. Shall supervise the Director of Music and all other personnel involved in the ministry of music.

b. Shall oversee the music program of the Church and enlist membership in the choirs, band and other musical groups.

c. Shall oversee a program of altar care.

d. Shall promote, supervise and train all worship assistants. (lay assistants, deacons, lectures, acolytes, ushers, etc.)

e. Shall manage the inspection, maintenance and replacement of all worship supplies.

f. Shall establish orderly and appropriate worship services.

g. Shall assist the Pastor(s) in administering the sacrament of communion through a subcommittee composed of members of the congregation.

h. Shall make arrangements for seasonal decorations and floral displays.

i. Shall direct the work of choir directors, organists, or their substitutes, make recommendations on personnel performance to the Executive Committee, and make recommendations on salary or other compensations to the Treasurer-Finance Committee.
